Studied at King’s College Pupil of William Burges, Associate of the Royal Academy.
Went to India when 21 years of age. Erected there the Bombay markets, several churches, and other buildings. On returning home designed for the Government, of India the Allahabad University, carried out by the Royal Engineers.
Also designed the Cathedral for the Lucknow Diocese and the Bhounuggur Hospital.
Was architect of Saint Mary's Church, Brighton. The Clarence Memorial Wing, Saint Mary's Hospital.
His design was placed first in the competition for Liverpool Cathedral, and Hamilton House, Victoria Embankment, and the New Royal Caledonian Asylum are his work. Besides these he is carrying out the Victoria Memorial for India in Calcutta, and has designed a large palace for the late Maharajah of Bhounuggur.
