Career
He became a captain in the 1st Dragoon Guards. He held the seat until 1835. He was re-elected for the seat in 1857 and retained it until his death in 1863.
Bernard died at the age of 70.
Bernard married Elizabeth Gillman, daughter of Lieutenant-Colonel Edward Gillman, of Clan Coole, company
Cork on 31 May 1831. There were no issue.
