He was educated in the city schools of Yonkers, he studied architecture at the Cooper Union in New York and at Columbia University
At the age of twenty-one he began practice in Yonkers. During his active years Mr. Katz designed a number of business and public structures in his native city, among which were the First National Bank in 1927, the City Health Center, and the Park Building on 12th Street, considered his outstanding work. In more recent years he was associate architect on "Mulford Gardens," a Federal Slum Clearing Project in Yonkers.
