William Lehman has written a straightforward account of the unvarnished reality of life under the Capitol dome; how the nation's business is done, how problems are solved, and compromises achieved. Representative in Congress of the people of Miami, he served for a number of years as Chairman of the Appropriations Subcommittee for Transportation. He gives valuable insights into the daily workings of the intricate network of people who have significant influence on US government policy. His book also deals frankly with the role of lobbyists as information providers and technical specialists.
