On his return to his native city he was appointed professor, and afterwards director of the academy of fine arts He painted the principal scenes of the comedies of Holberg, popular festivals, &c. At the Paris Universal Exhibition, 1855, were two pictures by his hand.
"Inhabitants of Dalecarlia crossing the Sylvan on their way to Church," and " Young Romano in deserting Home." He was a knight of the order of the Danebrog.
