Career
Masson ran for a seat to the Alberta Legislature as a Social Cr candidate in the electoral district of Wainwright for the 1935 Alberta general election. Masson ran for a second term in office in the 1940 Alberta general election. Due to the 1939 boundary redistribution, incumbent Albert Blue who left the Social Cr caucus to join the Independent Progressive Association found his district of Ribstone abolished.
He ran against Masson along with two other candidates.
The race was hotly contested with Masson barely winning in the third vote count. Masson ran for a third term in office in the 1944 Alberta general election.
His fortunes improved as he was returned with on the first ballot with a very large majority defeating two other candidates. Masson ran for a fourth term in office in the 1948 Alberta general election.
Masson ran for a fifth term in the 1952 Alberta general election.
Masson retired from provincial politics at dissolution of the assembly in 1955.
