Field Force, South Africa, in the Boer War, 1900-1902 (local rank of Colonel, despatches, Companion of the Bath, Queen’s medal with three clasps, Cape Colony, Wittebergen, Transvaal, King’s medal with two clasps). Retired, 1907. Army Medical Service; Administrative Medical Officer, Tidworth District, 1905-1907.
