William Nickerson started his career as a sales supervisor and in 1933 he took up a post of a salesman at The Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company. He held this post until his retirement in 1951. That year he began devoting his time to real estate investing. In 1959, he published his first book How I Turned $1000 into a Million in Real Estate – In My Spare Time. My Odyssey around Three Worlds came next, followed by How to Make a Fortune Today – Starting from Scratch, which was published in 1963.
