Career
He was the school"s first adjunct professor starting in 1981, its first adjunct professor with a named chair, and the first non-tenured professor at Harvard University to be given emeritus status. He was also on the faculty of the Harvard Graduate School of Design Poorvu earned his Bachelor of Arts from Yale University in 1956 and his Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School in 1958. He is the Company-founder,Chairman, and Company-Chair of the Advisory Board of The Baupost Group, currently led by Seth A. Klarman with $29.4 billion AUM in 2012.
In April 2013, he was elected to the American Academy of Arts & Sciences.
