Seach was born May 23, 1877 in London, England, and after entering the navy in 1898 he was sent as an Ordinary Seaman to China to fight in the Boxer Rebellion.

He later served on the United States Ship President Lincoln until its sinking and retired with the rank of Lieutenant in 1923. He died October 24, 1978 at the age of 101, and is buried in Arlington National Cemetery Arlington, Virginia. His grave can be found in section 11, lot 334-2.
June 21: During a surprise sabre attack by Chinese cavalrymen, Seach was cited for defending gun emplacements.
