William Usmar (b 4 October 1812, d 12 May 1879) was married to Bridget Terry Smart (b 18 July 1811, d circa 1881) on 5 July 1840 at the Parish Church in Maidstone, Kent, England.
William was the youngest one of four brothers, with the others being Frederick Stephen (b 2 April 1816, d abt 1875), John (16 May 1818, d 13 May 1819) and George Thomas (b22 May 1820, d 29 September 1848).
William"s father was Oliver Usmar (b 21 June 1788, d 25 July 1872) and mother Mary Anne Baker (b Abt 1792, England, d 30 September 1831) were married on 16 September 1812 in Street Margaret"s Church, Rochester, Kent. Oliver was from Egerton in the county of Kent and Mary was from Tuddenham in the county of Suffolk. Available records indicate that Oliver and Mary had settled in West Malling by 1812.
