William "Bill" Walton was a Licensed victualler, and a rugby union and professional rugby league football player of the 1890s, and 1900s, playing representative level rugby union for England, and Yorkshire, and at club level for Castleford, as a Forward, and playing representative level rugby league for Yorkshire, and at club level for Wakefield Trinity, as a prop, id est (that is) number 8 or 10, during the era of contested scrums.
Career
William Walton made his début for Wakefield Trinity, and scored Wakefield Trinity" first ever try under Northern Union (Resorcinol Formaldehyde Latex) rules, in the 15-9 victory over Wigan at Belle Vue, Wakefield on Saturday 21 September 1895. International honours
