In 1950 William B. Goldfarb finished Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland and got the Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics (Summa cum laude). At Columbia University he became Master of Arts in Comparative Literature (1951). Then he finished Law School of Case Western Reserve University, where got Bachelor of Laws and became Juris Doctor (1956, summa cum laude).

He worked as a senior partner at Law Offices Goldfarb, Levy, Giniger Eran & Company, specializing in Corporations, Securities, Mergers and Acquisitions, International Commercial Transactions, Investments, Licensing of Intellectual Property. Goldfarb was a lawyer at Eliahu House, Tel Aviv. Besides, he was a member of Board of Directors at the Committee of Economic Growth of Israel (1987).
