The firm was originally formed in 1983 by William B. Kirksey and Bobby DeLaughter, both former partners of Alvin M. Binder.
Starting with a local general practice, the firm now serves the entire State of Mississippi and other states, with the firm being involved in numerous criminal defense trials and capital murder trials in Mississippi. Mr. Kirksey frequently serves as a special public defender when called upon by the Circuit Judges. The firm has handled cases in Tennessee, Florida, Missouri, Louisiana, Texas, California, New Mexico, Georgia and Virginia.
The firm has also been involved in numerous federal criminal trials, as well as high profile litigation in Driving under the influence, actions for declaratory relief involving state statues on the issues of video poker, bingo, pornography and liquor.
Since joining the firm, Mistress Gardner has handled numerous complex domestic cases and has been appointed as Guardian Ad litem for the 20th Chancery Court District.
