Bacon & Company, 1876, and its successor, Stillwell, Millen & Company, 1887, Southern Pine Company of Georgia, 1895, now secretary and treasurer latter. Prominent for many years in lumber manufacturers’ and dealers’ and commercial organizations of Georgia and the South.
An organizer, later vice president, National Lumber Manufacturers’ Association.
Has frequently appeared before committees of Congress and state legislatures, in behalf of public improvements and lumber industry. A founder of Savannah Board of Trade (president).
Chairman Savannah Harbor Commission. Director Southern Settlement and Development Organisation of Baltimore.
Vice president Georgia Land Owners’ Association.
