Background

Stevens, William Burnham was born on March 23, 1843 in at Stoneham, Massachusetts, United States. Son of Doctor William Flint and Mary Jane Gould (Burnham) Stevens.

Education

Entered Dartmouth College, 1861, but at close of 1st year enlisted in Company C, 50th Massachusetts Vols., for 9 months, and served nearly a year. Reentered college and graduate Bachelor of Arts, with honors, 1865. Read law in office of Sweetser & Gardiner, Boston, and at Harvard Law School.

Career

2d, Mary Williamine Green, of Stoneham, September 30, 1873. Began practice at Boston and Stoneham, 1867. District attorney for Northern District of Massachusetts, 1880-1890.

Resumed practice at Boston. The American Association For Justice Superior Court of Massachusetts, April 1898-March 1917, resigned. President Stoneham Five Cent Savings Bank.
