Admitted to bar in Montague Company, 1896. Mayor of Sunset, and company commissioner, Montague Company, 1892-1896. Removed to Austin, 1896.
Farmer and stock raiser, Hays Company, 1899-1907. Company commissioner, Hays Company, 1903-1907. Appointed state superintendent public grounds and buildings, 1907, reappointed, 1909.
Has charge of converting San Jacinto battlefield into a public park, and superintending construction of monument at grave of General Sam Houston, Huntsville, Texas.
Married Agnes Loador, of Freestone Company, Texas, October 27, 1875 (died 1878).
