Ordained ministry Presbyterian Church, 1886. Pastor successively First Church, Jacksonville, Florida, King Ferry, New York, Marietta, O., and Calvary Church, Auburn, New York, until 1907. Professor economics and history, Whitworth College, Tacoma, Washington, 1907-1913.

Professor Bible and history, Jamestown (North Dakota) College, since 1913, then dean department religious education Trustee Marietta College, 1895-1902.
