Took part in the unsuccessful agitation for the erection of North Queensland into a separate colony, being Vice-President of the Separation Convention in Townsville, 1885, and Vice-President of the Separation League. Vicar of Hamilton, Victoria, 1894. Ballarat East, 1898- 1910. Archdeacon of Ballarat since 1898; Secretary of the Provincial Synod of Victoria.
