Engaged in lumber, furniture manufacturing and banking at Marshfield, Wisconsin, since 1878. President Upham Manufacturing Company Governor of Wisconsin, 1895-1897.
Member G.A.R. (major on staff department commander, 1891-1892. Member of the board visitors, Annapolis, by appointment of President Arthur, board of visitors, West Point, by President McKinley.
