Appointed in 1897, 1898, 1899, 1900, 1901,1902,1903, 1904, and 1905 to act as a Chairman at Courts of London Sessions during absence of 1st, the Chairman, and 2nd, the Deputy Chairman, also February 1906, as Deputy for the Chairman under the Quarter Sessions (London) Act, 1896. Formerly Captain in the West Suffolk Militia, retired 1889.
