Doctor William Gates and Hannah (Stewart) Henderson, of Oberlin, May 22, 1866. Was corporal “Squirrel Hunters,” 1862. Stove manufacturer, since 1865.

Now of Michigan Stove Company.

Also manufacturer of testing machines. In 1885, discovered the relation between the shrinkage and the chemical composition of cast iron, which is named “Mechanical Analysis.” Author: Cast Iron, 1902.
