Joined staff of Adelaide Advertiser, 1880. Editor and proprietor of the Silver Age, 1890. Editor Tamworth News, 1894.
On Golden Age, 1895; went to England, 1896. Joined staff of British Australasian. Acted as Special Commissioner for Newcastle Morning Herald at Diamond Jubilee Celebrations in London, 1897.
Returned to Australia and acted as Special Commissioner for British Australasian on visit of Prince and Princess of Wales, 1901. A Member of South Australian Royal Commission on Inebriety, 1906. Appointed Commissioner by South Australian Government to report on experiments by Doctor Danysz, of the Pasteur Institute, Paris, for destroying rabbits in Australia by means of disease.
Chairman of the Council of the South Australian Protectionist Association. Has travelled extensively in Europe, Mauritius, Ceylon, and Australia. Suggested and arranged Lucknow Relief Jubilee Celebrations in Australia, 1907.
Induced Commonwealth Govt, to grant the right of military funerals to all Crimean and Mutiny veterans dying in Australia. Editor Faulding’s Medical and Home Journal since 1899.
