William Lin-Tang Chen, Chinese Plasma spectroscopist. Achievements include discovery of formulae for determinations of pressure and radiation power in high pressure sodium lamps; design of computer-controlled diagnostic system for high intensity discharge plasma; research on discrepancies between the temperatures derived for emission spectroscopy and from heat transfer diagnostics in high temperature turbulent plasma jets.
