Career

Superintendent schools, Lyon Company, Kansas, 1893-1897. Admitted to bar, 1897, and practiced at Emporia. Appointed member Kansas Public Utility Commission, January 1919, and author of bill known as the Kansas Industrial Law, creating the Court of Industrial Relations (law provides for adjudication of industrial controversies, discarding the theory of arbitration).

Appointed presiding judge Kansas Court of Industrial Relations, term 1920-1923. Special attorney League for Industrial Rights, New York City, 1923-1926. Trustee College of Emporia.
