Began teaching in rural school, Bergen County, New Jersey, 1890. Later assistant superintendent schools, New York City. Lecturer on geography, Fordham University, since 1918.

President Federal of Teachers Association, securing legislation for educational reforms, pensions, salary and tenure, in schools of New York.
