Theatrical profession as actor, later became mgr. Enlisted as a private in Company “A”, 101 Regular United States Infantry., 1917. Served 19 mos. in France, taking part in all major operations, engagements, and battles of 101 Regular Infantry.
26 (Yankee) Division. Reg. color segt. for meritorious service, 1919. Elected to 68 Congress.
Re-elected to 69. 70, 71 Congresses. Democrat and Republican nominations.
