Joined 1st Royal West Kent Regiment 43 1884. Major 1902; present at siege of Ambigol, Wells, 1885 (despatches). Action at Giniss, 1880.
Served with Egyptian army, 1888-1890. Staff Officer at Assouan lor operations at Toshki. Retired 1905; Reserve of Officers.
St. Andrews University Officers’ Training Corps. Companion of the Distinguished Service Order 1886.
