CARPENTER, William Thomas was born on December 13, 1878 in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, United States. Son of James Thomas and Annie M. (Castleman) Carpenter.

I. During World War, Captain and Major, 52 Artillery. Served in various grades and on various duties with Heavy Artillery Board, American Expeditionary Forces 1918. Colonel 58 Artillery, 1918-1919.

Instructor, Command and General Staff School, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, 1926-1930. Author of various articles on military subjects published in the United States Military magazines.
