Assistant professor municipal engineering, Lafayette College, 1907-1910, professor, 1910-1918. Civil engineer Taylor-Wharton Iron & Steel Company, 1918-1919. Lecturer Rice Institute, Houston, Texas, 1919-1921.

Professor civil engineering and head of department, Washington and Lee University, since 1921. Offered general plan for development of City of Houston.
