Rossell, William Trent was born on October 11, 1849 in Mount Vernon, Alabama, United States. Son of Major William H. and Lucinda Gayle (Eastin) Rossell.

Education

Appointed from New Jersey, and graduated from the United States Military Academy, 1873.

Career

Commissioned Second lieutenant of engrs., June 13, 1873. Promoted through grades to brigadier general and chief of engrs. United States of America, August 12, 1913.

Membership

Served on the Atlantic and Gulf Coast and on the Ohio and Mississippi rivers. Member Mississippi River Commission, 1906-1913. Member Harbor Line Board, New York harbor, and Board of Engineers Fortification.
