First lieutenant, June 9, 1862. Captain, August, 1862. Major 4th Ia Cavalry, September 27, 1864.

Mustered out, August 24, 1865. Admitted to bar at Burlington, Iowa, 1866. Practiced law in Western Iowa to January 1872, at Salt Lake City, 1872-1884, Shoshone Company, Idaho, since 1884.

Judge 1st Judicial District of Idaho, January since 1907.
