William Whitty Hall

Hall, William Whitty was born on October 15, 1810 in Paris, Kentucky, United States. Son of Stephen and Mary (Wooley) Hall.

Education

Graduate Centre College, Danville, Kentucky, 1830. Doctor of Medicine Transylvania University, Lexington, Kentucky, 1836.

Career

Ordained to ministry Presbyterian Church, 1836, did missionary work, Texas, 1837. Abandoned preaching, practiced medicine in New Orleans and Cincinnati, until 1851, practiced in New York City, from 1851. Published periodical Hall’s Journal of Health, New York City, 1854-1876.

Author: Consumption a Curable Disease, Illustrated in the Treatment of 150 Cases, 1845.

Bronchitis and Kindred Diseases, 1852. Sleep, 1861; How to Live Long, 1875.
