WOOD, William Wightman was born on May 21, 1840 in Littleton, Middlesex. Son of Reverend P. A. L. Wood, Canon of Middleham, Yorkshire, and Rector of Newent, Glos, and Caroline, daughter of Honourable Sir William Wightman, Judge of Court of Queen’s Bench.
Education
Eton; University College Oxford (Bachelor of Arts 1868).
Career
Called to Bar at Inner Temple, 1871. Practised on the Home and South-eastern circuits, at the Essex and Hertfordshire Sessions, and before Parliamentary committees. Judge of County Court Circuit No. 20(Leicestershire, etc.) since 1894.
