As a soldier in the 2nd section of the artillery regiment 40, joining 2. battery of the border artillery regiment 105, in the Saarpfalz, he was promoted on 1 April 1934 to the rank of captain. As Colonel and Commander of the Launcher Regiment 71, he received the Knight"s cross on 24 June 1944. Wolf Andreae died on 18 December 1991 in Tenerife/Spain.
