Colonel 1889; Major-General 1898. Retired, 1902; served Nile Expedition, 1884-1885. Present in the engagement at Abu Klea on 16 and 17 February 1885 (despatches, brevet of Lieutenant-Colonel, medal with clasp, and Khedive’s star). R.A.
