He wrote the book, The Humanity of Christ, and was a professor of religion at Andrews University. In 1989, Whidden received a Doctor of Philosophy (Doctor of Philosophy) in historical theology from Drew University in New Jersey. He taught in the religion department at Andrews University from 1990 to 2006.
Whidden has published the books Ellen White on Salvation: A Chronological Study (Review and Herald, 1995), Ellen White on the Humanity of Christ: A Chronological Study (Review and Herald, 1997), The Trinity: Understanding God"s Love, His Plan of Salvation, and Christian Relationships (Review and Herald, 2002), East.
