Yachiyo Okada was born in Tokyo, was the sister of Kaoru Osanai.

She organized the Mebaeza Theatrical Company for boy actors (1924). Later she accompanied her husband to Europe (1930). Among her works are Shinryoku (Fresh Verdure), a long novel, and a play Tsuge-no-Kushi (A Box-Wood Comb).
After graduating from Seijo School she married Saburosuke Okada, an oil painter (1906).
