Background

Yair Bacharach was born in 1639 in Lipník nad Bečvou, Moravia.

Career

Yair Bacharach wrote many works and was recognized as one of the great halachic authorities of the time. He was also the master of all the sciences, music and had a deep interest in history. In 1699, he was appointed rabbi of Worms where his father and grandfather had served before him.
