According to authentic records, Mimasaka Oguri, a chief retainer of Mitsunaga Matsudaira, Lord of Takata, attempted to usurp the lordship through a plot in June, b. 1681. The affair was settled personally by Shogun Tsunayoshi Tokugawa. Mimasaka was put to death and Mitsunaga was exiled to Matsuyama in Iyo Province (Ehime Prefecture) and his territory was confiscated.
A great swordsman and judo expert, he unsuccessfully attempted to assassinate Mimasaka Oguri, a traitor, and left the clan and killed Jizaemon Ando, another villainous retainer, according to the kodan.
