1924-1925 chairman, Orenburg and Kaz TradeUnion Council. 1925-1929 chairman, Tatar Trade-Union Council, Kazan’, and Centr Volga Trade-Union Council, Kuybyshev. Until 1936 chairman, Central Committee, Art Workers’ Trade Union.
1936-1937 first deputy chairman, Committee on Art Affairs, Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics Council of People's Commissar. 1937-1939 director, Moscow Arts Theater. 1939 arrested and imprisoned.
