Yamada Akira was born on 1884 in Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan.
Yamada Akira served at Osaka Hohei Kosho (Ordnance Factory) and Moji Plant of Kobe Seiko Kaisha (Kobe Steel Works). He became representative of the newly founded Osaka Kinzoku Kogyosho (Osaka Metal Industry Company) (1924). When that organization was reorganized into a joint-stock company became its president (1934). Served also as chairman of Osaka Heavy Industry Company and director of a few other industrial companies.
