Career
Yamanouchi Kunitsuna was appointed Gobankaji (the Emperor’s personal swordsmith) to ex-Emperor Gotoba. Later moving to Sagami, Kanagawa Prefecture, he took the name of Yamanouchi Kunitsuna and founded the Kamakura school of swordsmiths.
