Full member, Latvia Academy of Sciences, since 1951; Honoured Worker of Science of Latvian Soviet Socialist Republic since 1953; Professor, Latvia Agriculture Academy since 1944; Director, Latvia Research Institute of Stockraising and Veterinary Science, since 1949. Member, Communist Party, since 1920.
BERZIN, Yan was born in 1893.
1932 graduated Moscow Institute of Large-Scale Meat and Dairy Stockraising.
1934_44 Learned Secretary, Stockraising Section, Lenin All-Union Academy, of Agriculture Science. 1944-1949 Latvia Deputy Minister of Agriculture. Works deal with use of trace elements in feeding farm animals and poultry, which contributed to elimination of phthisis in Latvia.
