Career
He is the Minister without Portfolio of the Executive Yuan since 5 February 2015. Yan obtained his bachelor"s degree in mechanical engineering from National Cheng Kung University in 1973. He then continued his study in the United States and subsequently obtained his master"s degree and doctoral degree in mechanical engineering from University of Kentucky in 1977 and Purdue University in 1980 respectively.
