Yang Yang graduated from the Department of Dance in People"s Liberation Army Arts College in China.
He made his acting debut in The Dream of Red Mansions as the lead role Jia Baoyu(adult), which is a great beginning of his career as an actor. In 2011, Yang Yang played Yang Kaizhi (the elder brother of Yang Kaihui) in film The Founding of a Party. This is the first time he acted in a film.
In 2013, he played a male lead role called Cao Zhi in a history play called Legend of Goddess Luo.
