Yang was born on December 20, 1980 in Erdos, Inner Mongolia. She is ethnically Mongolian. In her early years, she worked in Guangzhou as a saleswoman.
In 2011, she joined the Chinese People"s Liberation Army Naval Song and Dance Troupe.
