Yasuhira Shikaichi worked as a metal worker; joined the Tokyo Iron Workers Union (1921) and became member of the Central Executive Committee of the Japan Proletariat Party. He was member of the Tokyo Municipal Assembly. Yasuhira Shikaichi was arrested in connection with the case of the People's Front.
After the war, elected to Lhe Lower House five times. Served as chairman of the Labor Committee, and also made effort to unite the rightist and leftist groups of the Socialist Party.
