Yasui Toji was born on October 11, 1885 in Toyama, Japan.
Yasui Toji was graduated from Military Staff College as one of the honor students to be awarded the service swords.
Yasui Toji served as instructor of Military Staff College and as Shizuoka Brigade Commander. He became chief of staff of Tokyo Guard Corps and thenceforth held various army staff posts.
At time of the February 26 Incident (1936) he as chief of staff of Forces Enforcing Mortial Law, played an prominent role in suppression of the Rebel Force led by a group of young army officers who unsuccessfully attempted to assassinate several cabinet ministers in a rightist revolution.
Yasui Toji served four years with Garrison Force in North Manchuria and then was placed on reserve list. Was appointed chief of Tokyo Municipal Imperial Rule Assistance Adult Association; also was nominated executive of Teikoku Petroleum Company. With formation of Suzuki Cabinet was made state minister (1945).
