Yasuko Takehito was born in 1864 in Ishikawa, Japan. She was the fourth daughter of Yoshiyasu Maeda, former Lord of Kanazawa Clan (Ishikawa Prefecture).

Yasuko Takehito was born in 1864 in Ishikawa, Japan. She was the fourth daughter of Yoshiyasu Maeda, former Lord of Kanazawa Clan (Ishikawa Prefecture).
Yasuko Takehito accompanied her husband (1889) on a tour through Europe and America, and again went to Europe with her consort to attend the wedding of the then German Crown Prince (1905).
She served as honorary matron of the Tokyo Jikei Hospital (1896), and became the hospital's honorary president in 1907.
She was married in 1880 to Prince Takehito Arisugawa, for whom she bore a son and two daughters.
